Cypress Fire Pit regular Reviews

The Cypress got us through many outdoor winter happy hours in Maine this year. It's much warmer to sit beside than a fire table (where the heat source is so high up that it only warms your upper body.) I even put the lid on it and popped it into the car with it a few times to take to a cottage. It's very portable, lightweight (but well-built) and the flame warms the rocks in a way that looks a lot like charcoal briquettes. Get one! :-)

The Cypress that Costco sells is different than the one on Outland web site. Using the same model name of Cypress at Costco is misleading. The Costco Cypress does not have the Helois burner. Since I had to purchase and discover the lack of Helois burner and confirmed with Outland that Costco's Cypress does not contain the Helois burner. I wonder what else is lacking on the Costco Cypress. The firepit may be great. My one star is for lack of clarity and wasting my time. I've never felt that Costco was a, buyer beware, store. But, for the price for $99 at Costco, it's a great buy. It's just not what I was looking for.

I saw great reviews for the Cypress Fire Pit all over the internet, but came here to buy it. I'm glad I did. Shipment was pretty quick and setup was easy. My fire pit didn't come with any instructions but the only assembly is really placing the lava rocks in it and I found instructions for that on YouTube. We bought this as a nice add during the pandemic. We sit around the fire pit almost every night and love how easy it is to start. The first night I used it, a neighbor saw me and used his wood-burning fire pit the next night (while I used mine). I noticed that his gathering kept having to move to avoid the smoke. Not me. Another great thing about this.

I am camping on a mountain in a forest near a lake as I type this, and am literally sotting in front of this fire pit right now. It's 2020, climate change doesn't appear to be going anywhere soon and there are fire bans at all or most of the camp grounds these days. I feel sorry for the many campers who had no fire to sit around these past few nights as I did. They all go to bed at dark whereas I sit out, all warm and cozy by the fire and listen to music, and er, right reviews apparently! There IS no camping without a fire, so this is the most important camping gear/item to get IMO beyond your tent, stove and a headlamp! Thanks guys for getting this to me so quickly! ❤️

Had looked around for "decorative" fire tables and such, but wanted something with more of a campfire feel to the flame, lower to the ground than most fire tables, and not a wide, clunky piece of furniture. Also wanted something we could stash out of the way when not in use, as we like to rearrange our patio on-the-fly, depending on the occasion. The Cypress delivers on all fronts! The Helios burner delivers a natural wood-fire look. Tall/full in the middle, low/wide towards the edges. And, unlike some gas-burning fire pits, the fire is "lively" if that makes any sense. Many gas pits provide a flame that is too uniform; a clearly fake "ring of fire"look. The Cypress has a natural looking fire that moves around in a random fashion. And once it's going for a bit the lava rocks glow red-hot like embers in a real fire. The main thing we liked about our previous wood fire pit is that it kept the fire low to the ground. The Cypress is as low to the ground as you want. That said, for home use I bought/modified a more decorative fire pit to hold (disguise?) the Cypress on the patio, which also elevates the fire about 6 inches. Can't tell it's a gas pit at all now! Looks great and total cost was about 1/4th of what a comparable decorative gas fire table would have cost. Lastly, while we bought the Cypress mostly for use in the backyard, the ability to bring it tailgating, to the beach, a friend's house, etc is the icing on the cake. Get the carry bag, too. Highly recommended!

If your thinking of buying a fire pit then do it. I recently bought my fire pit from Costco and absolutely love it. Low maintenance and looks very sleek puts out a ton of heat even on low. I use mine to have a fire going while I read my Kobo on the patio keeps me plenty warm. And there great for roasting marshmallows too.
