“Generally the part that wears is the longer strap that wears through at the buckle. I have only chosen to use this part of the replacement strap. After closer inspection of the buckle, it seems it’s made of a ‘spring pin’ type and NOT the screwed bar type like the original. Again for $15 it’s cheaper than the OIM one for $60, but for me I’m sorry but I don’t want to risk losing my watch. The spring types aren’t very strong and would be a weak point.

“Shipping was quick and included tools did the job. Aesthically, it is a little shinier than the Garmin strap, a little softer as you would expect with silicone but otherwise identical in all respects. Longevity is the key question for me but so far, so good.”
