This is a very well designed and crafted jacket, with many details that other products like this are missing. To be clear, it is recommended that one wear a "very warm base layer" in order to be comfortable in the temperature range it suggests is obtainable. Without said base layer, This is good for temps above freezing. The color, which is nice, isn't as what I see online, as it has a slight teal tint to it. Nice, but not what I saw when ordering it. I definitely would recommend it, and to buy a very warm base layer.

I can only speak to the fit, since I never used it and ultimately returned it. Even size xxxl was way too small for me.

Great. Although I usually wear a medium/large jacket, I had to get the x-large since I wanted extra room for layering. I have used the jacket numerous times in 30 degree temperatures with a windchill in lower/mid 20's. The jacket kept me warm. Have not a chance to try it in lower temperatures. I would recommend this jacket keeping in mind that you should order at least one size larger than normal.

My previous winter cycling jacket was beginning to show its age after 10 brutal Northeast winters, but I was still determined to ride it out another season with that jacket. But then the Vertex WX-D jacket caught my attention. It checked a lot of boxes (windproof, rated to sub-freezing conditions, nice design details), so I decided to pick it up. I've been using it for about a month now and the Vertex jacket has not disappoint. It has worked as designed and advertised, so much so that I chucked my old jacket into the bin. I haven't experienced any chills with this jacket and have worn it down to 20F/-6C. I was confident that it would keep me warm that I only had one single baselayer on under the jacket and that was more than sufficient. The fit was mostly fine on my smaller frame with no major noticeable sizing flaws. There is room for improvements though. For starters, while the jacket breathes well, there has been times where I can feel it's just not at the same level as other pricier options. In an effort to improve the venting, I had to open up the side vents, but that wasn't an easy task as the zipper pull is quite small and hard to grasp with bulky winter gloves on. The side zipper also proved to be quite stubborn. The front, main zipper has been awesome though. Lastly, there's a bit of extra material in the sleeves resulting in a looser fit around the biceps. If I had bigger arms, then this wouldn't be an issue, I guess. Maybe I just need to hit the bicep curls harder this winter. All in all, an excellent jacket and I wouldn't hesitate to pick up another one if I needed to. Let's hope this one last 10 years like my last jacket!

This is definitely sized for an athletic fit. If you don't like a body-hugging fit, order one size larger. The jacket is very comfortable at temperatures in the low 30's. And during fast descents there is no flapping as I experience with my other winter riding jacket.
