“I have a ~year old pair of Ascent Vector shorts that are my go-to for long rides and races (love them). So I sprang this summer for a second pair of what I thought were exactly the same model — but when the new ones arrived, they were suspiciously without any seaming on the shammy inside. I haven’t owned shorts with a seamless shami since probably the early aughts, and know that their addition has been a big part of not feeling like you’re wearing a diaper in modern cycling clothing. I was going to send them back, but my husband — who owns a lot of Pactimo cycling clothes — told me the company knows what it’s doing. So I kept them, but put off wearing them for a few weeks because I simply didn’t trust them. Now I’ve worn them once and guess what: it’s exactly like wearing a diaper again. They’re deeply uncomfortable to walk in, and unarticulated when moving on the saddle. These are going straight to the back of the drawer, to be pulled out only when I’m forced to plumb the dregs of the laundry.”

“I have had several pairs of the previous edition of these shorts. I have loved them for long rides as they're very comfortable in the saddle. The new version is even better as they are slightly longer in the leg and the new gripper band helps them not to ride up.”

“They fit according to the size chart. The chamois is okay for shorter rides but doesn't provide enough support up front for more than that.”
