“The package arrived, and with great haste and anticipation, I handled my shiny new toy, a very solid, might I even say pretty, blue jacket. I'd call it a cobalt blue front and pockets and a teal blue back, but others may differ in opinion. It is clearly well made, with reinforced stitching along the pockets that get the bulk of the use. You feel its quality when you try it on for the first time, and are confident that it will perform as advertised. However, the 4 stars are due to where I fit in its sizing, and my disappointment (or surprise). In the world of cycling, my 6'2" 155 lb. frame has me fit in mediums really well, given my shorter torso (aka longer legs and arms), 31" waist, 39' chest. Inseam 35', arms the same, maybe 34.5". The medium in the Alpine Thermal Jacket, the arms are not quite there, and the neck room seems to be sized for someone with a stockier build (which I can't imagine works with the chest equivalent on this size). Now I'm not a complete scarecrow, I do pushups! But given all the warnings of needing to size up (which I did in ordering the Torrent Waterproof Jacket, which a large fits perfectly), In this case I cannot see doing so, where I sacrifice the perfect fit torso, to extend the arms to the right size but also open the neck cavity even more. I can adjust for the length with gloves, but the neck, the neck (lamenting tone), if it only had a velcro strap to rope out the cold and trap the heat, or ventilate it when necessary....”

“I have worn this jacket a number of time and it absolutely lives up to the hype. Fits well (I always size up one size with Pactimo jackets) and keeps me warm with just the normal cold weather layering. Highly recommend this jacket and all of the many other Pactimo garments i have purchased”

“This jacket is way warmer than you think. I’ve ridden this at 32* with a short sleeve base layer and ascent jersey and in efforts felt over heated. This paired with a long sleeve heavy base layer will be good down into the 20’s.”

“This jacket runs way warmer then they let on! I rode this jacket in 32* central jersey winter and found myself comfortably warm to over heating at times. What was most impressive was all I had on was a light short sleeve base layer and ascent jersey underneath! This paired with a high quality long sleeve base layer will be perfect down to upper 20 degrees. Highly recommend this to anyone!”

“The Alpine Thermal Jacket is perfect for cycling in temperatures hovering around 30-40F. With the full-sized pockets, I found that the fit was best with just a simple base layer. I would have probably ordered a another size larger for a bit more flexibility. Overall a great product!”
