“Really fast shipping from PF Harris. We have cats who leave live wild rodents in the house sometimes. We used birdseed as bait, and have caught two mice so far. I am pleased with this product, and appreciate that it is humane and reusable.”
“I highly recommend this product but I think there should be (1) instructions in the box (the first time I bought it I had to look up how to bait it and set it on youtube and (2) a timeframe for checking the trap instead of the general "check often": I've heard that mice can die in as little as eight hours from dehydration. I am so glad I was able to purchase from you directly as the manufacturer and your customer service is excellent.”
“It works great! I first tried cheese as bait, but the mouse was able to get the cheese without tripping the trap. I then tried peanut butter which sticks to the trigger better. That worked great. But after several weeks the plastic on the door broke on one side where it attaches to the axle. I have another one, and they ARE pretty inexpensive, and they work!”
“I have bought at least a dozen of these over the last 5 years...they work great...in the past my husband would take care of them...but when he died last year, I didn’t have the heart or energy and left the mice to the cats...after finding droppings in the kitchen drawers, I finally tried to get them set up. None worked. They either would be so trigger happy that no amount of bait could be used since the door holder would release as soon as it was set. Or they would never release and became a mouse feeding station. I noticed that my dear husband had tried to make them hold better by adding tape to the latch...to no avail. So I bought 4 new ones. I set them all up. First night I caught a mouse in one. Second night another mouse in same trap, but now...it doesn’t set any more...I think the mouse chewed off the latch....in other cases, it just doesn’t hold.
I bought 2 Have-a-Heart mouse traps that look similar to these and they worked great...they had a mouse embossed on them. If these are the same ones, they have been seriously cheapened and need to be tweaked to be more robust. I like relocating the mice to an abandoned farmhouse a couple of miles down the road to fend for themselves, but not at a current cost of $5. each.”
“The mouse Trap Works well, I would suggest a modification. Secure the back sliding door with a rubber band, that fastens the sliding door to the bottom of the trap. I had mice chew on the bottom of the back until they were able to push the sliding door up and get out. Since I use the rubber band, It works perfectly.”
