“This particular model-plastic tray type- is nearly worthless. Rats either avoid the trap, easily escape from the glue and/or drag the trap away. These plastic tray traps give me a 4% capture success rate and are a waste of time and money.
Harris glue trap for rats on the black folded cardboard, however, are the most superior trap (live, snap or glue traps) on the market by far. I but the cardboard ones by the case. With the Harris cardboard glue traps I have a 90% trap rate success and have even caught 4 (juvenile) rats on one trap before. I use traps a lot as we have poultry (so can't use poison bait) and our geographic area is in general experiencing a rat population explosion this year.
Skip the waste of money on these Harris plastic-tray glue traps. They are frustrating and worthless. They dont compare to the Harris cardboard glue traps for rats. I will never purchase this model again.”
“I bought many to get free shipping and used one and would never use another..
.I got a rat all right...
They eat part of their body off to free themselves from the trap and then die sometime later
It is definitely not a painless way to die ...”
Thank you for your very honest review. It can happen with rats, better trap placement or securing the trap would help with a more humane kill. If you are looking for a more humane method of rat control, a live trap / cage might be the better option. Of course there are also bait and bait stations.
