“I loved the idea of this subscription program. I am trying to cook more so I thought it would be great to always have new and exciting spices on hand.
The service wasn't as great as I expected for a few reasons: first, the spices came in sets based on geographic location, for example I would get 5 Spanish mixes together. Not really a fan of this since my goal was to get a variety of spices, but the spices that came together would be similar. I wish they disclosed that they are packaged in this way instead of an assortment.
Also, the spices come with recipe cards, but the recipes didn't exactly match up with the cards. I wish the cards were more general and user friendly, like just telling you how you need to prepare the spice mix (add oil, other ingredients), or even just a list of types of foods it would pair nicely with. Not a full recipe card that assumes you have chicken, vegetables, or other specific items.
Overall, it was a nice idea, but I couldn't really use it how I planned. I still have plenty of mixes that are unopened. The value is good, I just wish the company was more transparent and takes the above advice.”
