“Literally no set up required. Just download the Backbone app, open a game you own, press the Backbone button and if it’s compatible it will show up in the app. Buttons feel great as well as the analog sticks. It works fantastic for remote play of the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.”

“The best phone controller on the market, period! Other controllers pale in comparison. Makes the next best thing by the other guys (rhymes with Blazer Rishi) look and feel like garbage. Backbone transforms my iPhone into a true gaming device. Why not use an Xbox controller, you may ask? Well, where the heck am I going to put my phone? Clip it on, you say! Well that throws off the weight and makes gaming feel like some weird balancing act. With Backbone, my gaming experience is in perfect balance. If Apple made a controller for iPhone, it would be the Backbone One. I will be purchasing all future products from this company and love showing it off to my gamer friends.”

“It's good but it's not great. It could stand to be a little larger, after a while my hands feel cramped because my pinky and ring fingers aren't holding it, they're against my palm. Also if it had just a little more space (and I mean millimeters) between the back and the lightning connector I could use it while my phone is in its case. It's a bit of a hassle taking my phone out of its case just to put it in this thing to play if I don't know how much time I'll have, so I just don't bother. I use it mostly for Xbox remote place since there really aren't a lot of games on the iPhone itself I like that require a controller, and sometimes the Backbone button does unusual things. If the next version improves on these things I'd be willing to buy another one.”

“One of my top pandemic purchases. I honestly did not expect to enjoy this device so much. As a busy father of two toddlers this has allowed me to squeak in some gaming time at various odd points in the day (in the kitchen while the kids play downstairs, in the car while waiting for the wife to shop, etc.). It's super well built and coupled with Apple arcade and the Remote Play apps for PS4 and Xbox i've been reconnecting with my love of gaming for the first time in years.”

“There is an immediacy to button presses and gameplay, a feeling of purpose, that’s not quite there with touchscreen. Never thought a device could make a phone feel that way but the backbone is it”
