I have had an issue for a number of years: there was no pond places in the north-end / Everett area for a long while after Moorehaven and a place in Kenmore closed. My options were traveling far north or buying online. Recently, using Google shopping, I blundered onto a pond supplier with great online prices. Little did I know that he was local too! They have great prices, and the owner help me research a skimmer that would work great for my particular pond (had never had one before). He has been very flexible with my ordering needs and it very knowledgeable too. The owner wasn't shy or haughty when I asked questions either (unlike some sites and businesses I have dealt with). This "hobby" is very specialized and there are lots of people with questions. It is great to find an enthusiast who not only is helpful, but is a "ponder" too!

We purchase the sinking pellets for a couple of reasons beyond the fact that our fish love them. First, by sinking rather than floating the pellets don't float across the pond and clog up the skimmers. Also, by sinking to the bottom, the pellets are much easier for all the koi to feed on and stay out of predator reach.

We wanted to change over to the sinking pellets because the fish are sometimes a little lazy in their eating habits, and what was not immediately eaten of the floating variety would get into the skimmers and be wasted. Now, the smaller fish in the pond see us coming with the food and dash over to eat right away, while the larger fish can hang out and take their time. They all get fed and none of the food floats away into the skimmer. Within 5-10 minutes all food is gone, and the beauty of it is that ALL food was eaten and none wasted. A win for the fish and a win for us.
