“I ordered a submersible UV light with a lightbulb and the packaging is extremely questionable given the fragility of the item. The item was in its original retail-facing packaging and then just plopped into another shipping box with no bubble wrap or anything to protect the bulb from knocking around in the shipping box. Then when I opened the retail-facing packaging, there’s close to no cushioning in it, just 2 styrofoam pieces at the ends and a cardboard piece. The UV bulb looks ok and intact and I haven’t installed it yet but I’m also very worried since I have no idea if the bulb’s glass has been compromised and one tap against rocks after its submersed in the pond is going to break it. There was a fragile sticker on the box but it was shipped via UPS and I know that all the major carriers organize the packages at distribution centers with conveyor belts. There’s no “fragile” surcharge, fragile packages get processed all the same as ones without the sticker. A fragile sticker isn’t going to stop the chances of this package being in front of something bigger and heavier than this on a conveyor belt like a tv or even a ream of paper.”
