“After paying $400 a decade and half ago to have it replaced, I opted to replace it myself this time. You don't appreciate its function until a zone quits working. I thought about just replacing the motor on it, but decided to replace it all. Note: I only replaced the electrical part of the valve so I wouldn't have to release the pressure from the system. The valve underneath it was previously replaced even though the plumber said it was in good working condition; without sweating in the brass. 2 screws on top hold the electrical portion on; and 4 more hold the actual valve together.. if it doesn't leak; but the valve doesn't move smoothly then depressurize the system and replace the valve itself also.”
