“The mounting screws for the unit along with the terminal screws are made from very soft (and cheap) steel. The cuts for a Phillips head screwdriver are shallow as is the cut for a slotted head screwdriver. The softness and poorly/insufficiently cut screws make mounting a pain. Will be interesting to see how this holds up in normal use”
“The valve itself was working but the motor stopped. This was a good replacement and easy to change. It was a bit pricey though so the benefit was more about saving on work to replace the piping.”
“When none of the HVAC shops in our area had any on hand, I found I could get this quicker than ordering it through them. It came in a few days and took about 20 minutes to install. Good idea to take a photo of the old wiring before putting in the new unit. Also, you want to set the manual lever to "open" before placing it on the valve. Then release it to the auto position. It works just like the original. We'll see how long it lasts, but even the originals wear out (this is the second unit I've had to switch out over the last 5 years).”
