Insinkerator 76006, Evolution Septic Assist Garbage Disposal, Black Enamel Gray, 3/4 HP Reviews

4.7 Rating 243 Reviews
Our 10 year old 2005 InSinkErator Septic Assist died suddenly before the holidays and needed replacing. We opted to stay with the brand and get the new model. Good Decision. The new model was easy to install, used the same septic assist solution and (best of all) is VERY QUIET. I was surprised at the much lower the sound level. Used it all through the holidays with a house full of relatives and it worked great. We have a 2nd unit from 2005 in a pantry sink that works fine, but we can really tell the difference in noise. I only hope we get at least 10 years out of this one, too.

We are quite impressed with this disposal, which is designed well for the convenience of the homeowner. It is super quiet and yet grinds food quickly and completely. In addition, the rubber gasket in the drain area is obviously designed to be stiff enough to keep silverware from dropping into the disposal. We no longer have spoons, etc., falling in and needing to be discovered and fished out if they are to avoid being destroyed. We really appreciate that type of customer-centric engineering. We do not know how much it is helping the septic field. But so far so good, and based on the other features, we have confidence in the design.

With an existing InSinkErator collar it was super easy to install. Had it installed in a little over an hour. All parts that I needed were included in the package so no rushing out to get additional needed supplies. Disposer is very quiet. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase and with the overnight shipping of plumbingsupplyandmore. Ordered this around 3 in the afternoon on Oct. 30th and had it installed by the same time the next day! Can't beat that!

Just posting this review now because we bought this disposal for a new house and it has only recently been installed and put to use. We haven't used it a lot because we do have a septic tank and try to compost as much as possible. To the extent that we have used it, so far it seems to have lots of power and grinds things up very quickly and easily. It is very quiet compared to disposals we've had in the past.

So far we have had no issues after installing 6 months ago. With occasion/light use, we haven't even seen much decrease in the liquid septic assist product. I imagine we will get 18-24 months of use before we need to replace the

I was concerned about using a disposal on a septic system, however the research I did lead me to the InSinkerator Septic Assist. When we remodeled the kitchen, I decided to put one in both the main sink and the prep sink in the island. I couldn't be happier with them! They are very quiet and powerful. I don't put tons of stuff down them, but I love having a disposal. There is always a certain amount of food which would slip down your drain anyway, and from what I read, having the disposal can help the septic system. Really a quality disposer!

Easy installation and extremely quiet. Love it so far. The BioCharge bottle is simple to put in and take out. (Edited on 11/24 - in fact the BioCharge bottle is so simple to remove it falls out of place easily - it clicks in but when I turn on the disposal, more often than not it falls off. Perhaps user error?)
