“It is a quiet operating disposer. It was reasonably easy to install. (Removing my old disposer was difficult, however). I am not sure how effective the Septic Assist solution really is. The solution might be just a gimmick to allay the fears of people contemplating using a disposal with a septic system. I have never had a problem with my septic tank using a standard disposer. I purchased this product based on the strong recommendations of the buyers here at plumbingsupplyandmore. I like that the disposer is made in the USA!”
“My old disposal was 8 years old and started leaking from the main seal (leaking from the bottom). It was a Kenmore 3/4 hs pwr model and was very loud. This new InSinkErator is MUCH MUCH quieter and also seems far more capable than the Kenmore. The added feature of Septic Assist (I have a septic tank system) will only prove itself in time I guess. Installation was very simple as it just fit right into place with no custom fitting or work needed, however, the unit did not come with a pre-installed power cord. So, I just used the cord off of the old Kenmore, and presto!. On a scale of 1 to 10 difficulty (10 being most difficult) for house hold projects, I give this a 2 but if the power cord came installed, I would give it a 1. I CAN"T BELIEVE HOW QUIET THIS THING IS!!! So far, after 2 months, I am really glad I own this one over the Kenmore.”
