“Everything said this unit was ultra quiet and I am here to tell you IT IS. The unit comes highly rated and able to chew up darn near anything. The installation would have been very simple but... it comes with a nice shiny new ring that is seen in the sink. The old unit had a similar ring but of course, after years of use, the new new one would be much more appealing. However... these rings are part of the quick attach/detach design that would have made swapping the motor units easy. If you want the new sink ring, the quick attach/detach assembly has to be swapped out too. THAT assembly is secured by a snap ring and the tolerance around that ring is tight. The new sink ring squeezes out a fresh bead of plumbers putty and reduces the tolerance for the snap ring unless it is fully squeezed into the sink. Squeezing out the plumbers putty enough to install the snap ring, while on your back with your arms up and your wife pushing down on the ring cause much swearing and fuming. I finally got it but whew, that was a beast! The rest was easy and I love my new garbage disposer!”
