16" x 25" Whole-House Air Purifier Replacement Filter. Reviews

These filters work very well & are reasonably priced for their quality. I wish plumbingsupplyandmore would quit asking me to rate "presentation". I don't care how a product is presented, I care about how well it works!

I've ordered and used these filters for years. Will continue to purchase. They arrive in the box that perfectly fits the filter. I totally get this, but in my case the box was damaged and the bottom flap was open so the filter was already dirty. I returned for another. This one was fine, but came damp bc it was a rainy day. The cardboard is not very thick. I would suggest a plastic covering be added to boxes before mailing to ensure they are received in better shape.

The nominal measurements had me concerned when I compare them to the actual measurements but these filters were exactly what I needed and fits perfectly. It would help a new homeowner such as myself if the actual measurements were also included in the product description somewhere. Nonetheless, am happy with the product.

kinda pricey, for a replaceable item. consider how often they recommend you replace them.

If you have a higher-volume HVAC system (i.e. moves more air than typical builder's grade system for typical single family home) and you want something demonstrably better than most stuff you find at Ace Hardware or Walmart, and which doesn't need to be replaced as often, any of the filters in this series are worth a try.In particular if you have a brand new system and/or newly cleaned duct-work (and want to keep it that way), or just moved into a new place and notice a lot of dust and debris in the ducts under or behind the grates, these are a good place to start. Note that because of the cloth-like design, they will stress your fan and motor a bit more, especially always-on variable speed models. So make sure the one you've got is rated for this type of filter otherwise you might end up causing yourself a maintenance headache after a while. For a first run in a new home you will probably want to replace the filter every 2 months until you notice that less material is collecting on it. The rule of thumb I use is when the entire surface is coated in a few mm of gray dust, I change it. It will almost look like a "blanket" overlaid on the filter material. Eventually you should be able to replace this once every 4-6 months, depending on the air quality in your area, the amount of paint dust in your house. If you have really good air quality and don't use the HVAC 12 months a year you might even be able to stretch it to every 6-8 months. Even though they're rated for it I would not leave a filter in for 12 months unless the structure is very clean / has very little dust and traffic from humans and pets. These are definitely not meant to be swapped out every month and are priced accordingly.

These can only be purchased online. Seems like a rip off but as these are " specialized" filters made for our furnace. There is no generic version. we have no choice.

The Aprilaire 413 Air Handler filter is excellent for filtration of dust and its longevity. They are a bit expensive, but do an excellent job and are easy to change.
