“Have been buying this filter for more furnace for several years and I must say does collect the dust from entering the furnace, however now I find out from the HVAC experts that this type of filter is too restrictive of air intake, that it does more harm than good. The three experts said I’m better off using a less restrictive filter and changing it on a quarterly basis. Will have better air flow and prolong the life of your furnace. Ask your HVAC expert!”
“We’ve always used the Merv 213 but it’s not catching a lot of dust. I can dust and 2 days later I’m at it again. Can anyone tell me if they used the 216 or the 213cbn and if it was better. I hate dust!!”
“This is the third year I’ve used these filters and they are excellent in terms of catching dust and pollen. See the photo of one of the filters I just replaced. It was in our system for the past year. You can see how much dirt this filter captured. (A new filter is snow white.) They are super easy to replace. The only thing I don’t like about them is the price. I paid about 25% more for them this year than last year. They should not be this expensive.”
“First, this is a great filter. But, the problem is that it is a proprietary design, so you are stuck with this company. You can't just run out and get a normal filter from a variety of manufacturers, where competition keeps the prices at least somewhat reasonable. I've thought of cutting one of these up, using the mountinr rails, and buying a difffernt filter element and fitting it to those rails - because the outrageous prices for these just piss me off. If we every update our air handler, the Aprilaire air box will be the first part in the trash heap. And when we go to build a house in a few years, we'll explicity avoid this in spec'ing the HVAC system.”
“Seems to be exactly what I ordered, haven't actually installed one from this order. I always order replacements when I install the last one I have on hand.”
