“I received the humidifier quickly and I was able to install it just by following the instructions and confirming what I had questions about on YouTube. Three things to keep in mind:- It is not clear in the instructions that you must connect the 24V transformer to the external furnace power before connecting the 24V wires to the Aprilaire 700.- You must run a 5-wire low voltage cable from the humidifier controller- The green wire (G) must be connected directly to the Green thermostat wire and not the the furnace control board.”
“I have two furnaces. Purchased this item previously with installation from plumbingsupplyandmore for one of two furnaces. A professional installation was not available to purchase when i purchased second unit. The second unit replaced an older model and I installed it on my own. It was fairly easy to install. Installed wiring based on first unit professional installation.”
“I really like this humidifier, increased the overall home humidity. Installation was straight forward. I bought one for myself and one as a gift for my friend and installed both. Had a bit of difficulty for installation at both places because of the relative location of the duct works, not having an easy location to drill the hole and pass the thermoatat out. Took me 4 hours to cut the furnace and install everything, but could be 1-2 if everything is straight forward.Not super happy with the automatic controller, its not easy to set the right moisture.The running without the furnace heating the air also reduces the temperature feel if your house is not very warm due to the added moistureHowever, overall very effective”
“Been waking up without my nose being dry, installation is easy if you are somewhat knowledgeable in electricity and somewhat of a handyman, I am neither and was able to install it so anyone can too just follow the instructions. It’s working great so far.”
