No static hair, no dry/itchy skin in winter, no dry throat, none of the typical "heater symptoms" you have when you run the heater throughout the winter. I upgraded to this model simply because the last unit I had only ran when the heater ran. This one has a fan and regulates humidity regardless of heater running and year round! Just set it and that is it! I have had mine 1.5 years now in our new house and I am just now having to change the filter which is not bad.”
