“Replaced a hot air return-rotating drum & non-drained full house humidifier after getting tired on having to clean the water pan and foam drum. Should have done it long ago. While I did purchase the 700 – (digital control) I just wired the unit to the existing 24VAC basic humidifier controller that was already installed in the return air duct and it works just fine keeping the humidify at the set point (in our case 35%)... Lastly at first I connected the humidifier to the original “Cold” supply line.. and the unit was running all the time, struggling to reach the 35% humid set point. Connecting it to the instructions suggested.. hot water supply ..(which was very close and the unit get hot water very quickly ) The unit performs ! Running minimally to keep the set humidly level. Hint... Hard pipe the drain.. Because over time a clear plastic tube will plug with mold and alga growth.”
“We had a problem with dryness from our hot air furnace. I purchased the Aprilaire 700 with my handyman buddy and we were able to install it in a couple of hours (probably 5) because of some confusion.It's not as easy as it looks to install, but saving about $1500 according to installers near me, it was worth it.Can really feel the difference.I also bought a Humidity gauge and my condo went from about 25% humidity on a bad day to 45%very happy with it.”
“Its been more then a month that we have this Automatic version setup. Great feature is this can be configured such that it does not wait for the heating to run, but can probe the RH level and can turn the fan and blower on. We removed all the room humidifiers now and no hassles to fill in water, clean them at regular intervals. This runs great and is a great investment for home and family.”
“As an HVAC contractor this is the only humidifier I use now. Does a much better job over bypass humidifiers which is what I used to install. Takes a little longer if you need to install and outlet but worth it in the end.”
