“This was a replacement for a model 760 that died. I loved my humidifier in that it really did make a different in the winter with my blown hot air furnace. This is even better than my old and I actually had to turn the humidistat down. Great product!”
“Replaced our Aprilaire 760 with the newer 700 model. Seems to be working very well. Only difference was the humidistat is now digital, instead of manual in older model. Be warned if you order the install through plumbingsupplyandmore.....the true install price was four times more once they arrived, than the $131 install price plumbingsupplyandmore quotes. Last line in contract is " Larger or more complex projects may result in an updated price estimate from providers." Considering the entire install was just replacing the exact same older model, in the exact location, and the change of a more substantial wire for digital humidistat. The entire process was less than two hours required no additional parts. I would buy Aprilaire again, but would not purchase install through plumbingsupplyandmore services.”
“So, this may have been an overkill for my 1800sqft home. Was relatively easy to install given that I've never done this before. Instructions were ok, but there are much better instructional videos on YouTube.Anyway, went from 24% relative humidity to 41% overnight. Woke up with all the windows sweating, so the unit definitely works as intended although again a bit of an overkill for my home.”
“I had the unit installed by a professional; yet the unit would not turn on once all the work was done.He tested the wall outlet and all the installation he had done until he finally discovered the humidifier itself was faulty with a loose connection that he fixed himself. The unit now works fine (only a few days of use though) but Aprilaire should better test its products before shipping them out to customers. This is the reason for only 3 stars.”
“The install process took almost a full day. We did it ourselves instead of hiring someone (two engineers in the house). Wiring it into our HVAC system was extremely complex, but it's now setup so that there is a temperature sensor outside to prevent condensation on the windows. It's also wired so that it can trigger the fan in the HVAC system without having to run the heat. We live in Colorado and the humidity in our house was around 20%, it now hovers around 35% depending on the outside temperature and you can really feel the difference. Our sinus issues have gone away and we sleep much better! Highly recommended to anyone looking for a whole home solution, but hire someone to install it if you aren't good at reading wiring diagrams!”
