“I purchased this unit for a couple of reasons, the first being health reasons ( Bloody noses due to dry air, Dry and itchy skin, Sinus congestion, Cracked lips, Irritated throat, Snoring, etc), and secondly, I have a severe distaste for getting shocked on everything LOL. The last reason is to keep my guitar collection from drying out....low humidity can cause extensive damage and at a minimum causes the gear to need to be set up every season, which is not ideal with one let alone 15+ guitars.* Note* I had this professionally installed for just under $200 (I would guess $150-$300 would be an average)Environment: I have a 2100 sq ft split-level home in Ohio, new windows and recently insulated. The unit was installed on the return side as there was not ample room on the supply. The furnace has been running fairly constantly for the past week and I am at 48% humidity with the humidifier set at 4 1/2 out of 7 on the dial. So far, I have not been shocked, my sinuses have not been sore due to dry heat and my guitars have not needed any attention. Albeit, it is only been a week and we are not in the thick of winter yet, this unit has so far met my expectations.”
“You would think that a complicated instrument like this would come with detailed step by step instructions. Especially given you have supply lines, drain lines, low voltage, and high voltage to install. Well, it doesn't.Once you decipher it, watch some YouTube videos, and google up some more things, you will figure it out.You will need to buy a lot of stuff also. Water supply line. Water drain line. Thermostat wire, and sensor wire.It should come with a roll of thermostat wire (5 wire minimum), and some hosing for the water and drain.Once installed, it works very nice and is simple to operate. the thermostat screen has settings 1-5. It would have been nice to display the target humidity % levels instead of these dummy numbers.”
“Works well, wish it had a higher range of humidity. The unit will only allow you to reach 45% at the digital controller. In the house, the humidity will only reach 35-37%.”
“Great whole home humidifier. Requires wiring into electrical panel in the furnace for electrical power for the digital humidity level screen. Humidity level is only evident when heat is on.”
“Two humidifiers out of the three I bought had leakages. But the system is fine, simple, and working well. I recommend installing the humidifier on the return duct for negative pressure.”
