“For years we always had to notify everyone in the house if you were going to shower so no one would flush the toilet or use water due to the risk of getting burned. The mixing valve eliminated the threat. The water temperature may increase by 1 or 2 degrees in the shower but not enough to burn. And I no longer worry about the grand-kids burning their hands if they turn on the hot water in the sink because the hot side is set on the mixing valve to 120 degrees while the hot water tank is still set to 140 degrees.”
