I have a solar system preheating my water heater so the water heater sometimes puts out scalding hot water on very sunny days. I installed the mixing valve to prevent this very hot water from reaching the shower and other hot water faucets. It does work reasonably well most of the time, but when you first turn on the faucets you get cool water which quickly turns too hot and then tapers off. It isn't clear to me why this happens. My guess is that the valve does not react quickly enough to changes in the hot water reaching the valve. This Resideo valve replaced a brand new, equivalent Honeywell valve that didn't adjust the temperature at all.

I'm using it to mix cold water with hot water from my heat exchanger for my wood stove, but I'm having trouble regulating the temperature of my hot water.

Used for domestic hot water from a plate to plate heat exchanger and outdoor wood boiler.

But if we do, we will buy it from you. My husband plans to use it as part of re-doing our hot water plumbing system.

I bought this mixing valve to replace a Chinese knockoff that a previous owner had installed on the HydroHot unit of my motorhome. The Honeywell AM-1 is what HydroHot used originally, and is much heavier duty device. Works much better than the Chinese thing.

I used this mixing valve to replace the original valve on my Hurricane RV furnace for mixing the hot water for kitchen and bathroom. The valve was slightly larger, but was able to fit in place of the original. It is working perfectly !!!
