“I purchased this to replace my single stage cooling thermostat that was hooked up to my Trane dual stage cooler. (Don't know why the HVAC company did this.) This unit is attached to my Trane XL19i Cooler and my matched heater. I am not a ‚Äúpro‚Äù installer and there are warnings all over the box that if this unit is not installed by a ‚Äúpro‚Äù it voids the warranty. Don't let this stop you from purchasing this unit, because it is an awesome unit.It was no different to install than any other thermostat other than it requires a ‚ÄúC‚Äù common wire. This unit requires this because it does not have batteries. I installed the unit using 7 wires. I have a 2 stage heat and 2 stage cool. (4 wires) A fan wire (1 wire) and the positive and negative-common wire (2 wires). Took me about 20 minutes, but I also traced all the wires to make sure they were hooked up correctly to my outside AC and heater. They were not, as my 2 stage system was installed and jumper wired as a 1 stage system. You probably will not have this problem.During the initial setup you choose all of your options and it askes a lot of questions about your system and how you want it setup, including if you would like to connect to wifi or external temperature sensors. It has a program assist that will set up specific programming times based on questions that you answer and works really well. I would normally be the type of person who wanted to program it myself, but Honeywells' program assist was easy and quick to use. When connected to WIFI you can go only to Honeywells site and setup or change any settings from there. I also downloaded the application for my smart phone and can control the temperature from anywhere and adjust the programming times if I need. This is a great feature. One other feature I really like, in the settings menu you can select ‚Äúsystem status‚Äù and it will tell you exactly what is going on. I know if I am running 1st or 2nd stage heating or cooling, if the fan is on auto, or recirculating (on 30% of the time randomly when not heating/cooling) etc. etc. Finally the display not only shows you the temperature setting, and current indoor temperature and humidity, but if you are connected to wifi it automatically shows the outside temperature and humidity.I give this product 5 stars only because I can't give it 6!”
“I received the product in two days. After Honeywell finally told me which thermostat to purchase, I found it at a very reasonable price at this website.”
“This is an excellent AND affordable thermostat for starting up your "smart home" system. Installation instructions are straightforward and relatively simple, even for transitioning from a 10-year-old Trane programmable thermostat. First I made sure this thermostat would work with my system by an online chat with a Honeywell representative. Then I finished the setup by calling Honeywell and working with another Honeywell tech. More about that in a moment... Just want to say that now I am able to:1. Monitor and adjust my system via an app on my phone and on my computer browser.2. Tell Alexa (plumbingsupplyandmore Echo system) to "Turn up the temperature four degrees" while still in bed!SOME IMPORTANT ADVICEAlthough installation was simple, as was connecting to wifi and setting up the app, my heat pump system (Trane heat pump + Ruud gas furnace + outdoor temperature sensor) needed some additional settings that required a service tech; however, I didn't need a service call except on the phone. The Honeywell tech I mentioned ran me through the basics to be sure the wiring was correct, then asked me a bunch of questions about my HVAC system. Together we went through the "Setup" menu - he had the same thermostat in his hand - then started in on the "Installer" menu after we found the password for my thermostat. Item by item we found the settings that a $100/hour service call technician would (probably by calling Honeywell, too!)I am utterly delighted with my thermostat and with Honeywell customer support!”
“I bought this thermostat because I wanted to control humidity independently of temperature in our mostly vacant guest house. Being in Florida with the long hot humid summers, this is working very well for me. Most thermostats I had checked out, including the Trane (made also by Honeywell I believe) that we have in our home, would try to reduce humidity by dropping the cooling temp set point by up to 3 degrees. The Honeywell TH8321WF1001 Wifi Vision Pro 8000 has a feature called "dehumidification away mode". I have mine set at cool: 90 deg., low cool limit: 75 deg., humidity 60%. The a/c runs to keep humidity =”
