“I've installed my share of garbage disposers over the decades. I don't enjoy this particular job for a number of reasons, including that it's a tight space to work in and it's easy to loosen up the drain pipes. One thing I like about this particular disposer is that it's already electrically wired to be plugged in. That removes one step in the process. If you're going to install this yourself, be sure that you haven't disturbed or loosened the existing drain pipes and that you take your time. This disposer is a little noisy, but that's just the way these things are, I suppose. It works fine and does the job; no complaints.”
“My original Moen was frozen up. It actually froze up twice, but I was able to unstick it with a tool purchased on plumbingsupplyandmore. Then I was unable to get it working a second time. This unit does not have a reset button, which is a downfall, as far as I can see. It also doesn't have the hand crank option to unstick the blades. It is in a beach house, so I gave the first unit a pass because metal is just hard to keep running and purchased the exact replacement...primarily for an easy installation. And it was...just an unscrewing of the old model and this one fit right in and took right off working. It is a fairly quiet unit and I have no issues with it, other than the prior experience with the blades sticking.”
