“The unit arrived missing a washer. After a trip to the local home supply store I was back in business (frustrating!). The unit installed pretty much as per instructions. Upon inital startup, the water tempuratiure at the provided gauge read 110 F (10 degrees cooler than the supposed 120 factory setting). I adjusted it to 120. Then I checked the tempurature at the faucet. It was a scorching 132! 12 degrees hotter than the thermometer reading at the mixer! I was shocked! I immediately turned the tempurature down to where the gauge read 108 degrees. The water at the faucet was now 120. Then I discovered that the thermometer at the mixing valve is removable! It wasn't seated fully into the device, so the reading was innacurrate. WARNING: Be sure the thermometer is fully seated before adjusting tempurature. I'm surprised the instructions don't issue this warning. I could have unwittingly scalded someone! After getting my own replacement washer and fully inserting the tempurature guage, the unit seems to be working great! I recommend the product with those two issues.”
“The valve works as advertised BUT, the valve in the booster makes an irritating "water hammer" noise anytime water is run in other parts of the house. Sure would like to know how to fix. I've replaced one but both did the same thing.”
“Installed this so that we would have enough hot water to fill our Jacuzzi tub. Before this we would run out of hot water and have a Luke warm bath at best. With this we can fill the bath with nice hot water with more to spare. We had contemplated adding a second tank but this was a much better option for us. It's working great. Very happy with it. Although we have found that we aren't able to get a really hot hot temperature from the faucet. When we take a shower we use just the hot water with no added cold and it's a good comfortable temperature but not crazy hot. That's good I guess but we can't seem to get it any hotter if we wanted to and we have tried making adjustments. We would definitely recommend this over installing a second or larger tank.”
