“We put in a large tub and needed a larger hot water heater but didn't have room in the closet for a bigger one so we decided to use this product instead. It has worked well without any issues in the two months that we have had it in use.”
“We recently moved into a new house and noticed that the water heater was 26 years old and seem to struggle with providing enough hot water. We had a plumber come out and rather predictably he suggested we replace it. So after the water heater was replaced, I unfortunately realized that it was undersized for the jacuzzi jet tub we had in the master bath. I know, the things you don't think of when facing a financial decision that you have about 5 minutes to think about.Anyway, I decided to purchase this device to see if it would extend the amount of available hot water and sure enough, it did. We can fill the jacuzzi jet tub and the hot water heater still has hot water remaining, whereas before we had to fill the tub part way, wait for the water heater to recharge, then resume filling the tub.”
“Unit comes with what you need to safely turn the water heater temperature up. Will make your water heater wear out a year or two earlier due to higher tank temperatures. However, even if you have room for a second water heater, using this will still be way cheaper than adding a second water heater to handle hot water needs.”
“These valves are amazing when they work and I mean amazing but 3 to 4 years seems about all you get. Not a big deal for me because I'm a plumber and can switch a new one out easily but if your paying the plumber longevity can be frustrating.”
“Make sure you have a bucket for water when disconnecting the pipes and you’ve shut your water off to the house or valves to and from your hot water tank. I drained our HWT a bit as there was no valve on the hot side. Opened a couple taps upstairs to get the water out of the line. Make sure you have teflon tape for the fittings to prevent leaks. Took about 30 minutes to install. Works great. The allen key that came with it is a size smaller than the valve.”
