Tank Booster Pro with Breaded Hose & Temperature Gauge Reviews

4.7 Rating 128 Reviews
This product is awesome! Installed without the temperature gauge because I didn't have room for it. It comes with two filtered washers that you don't want to miss. the most critical one is the hot water intake because hot water tanks usually flow out scale materials into the hot water and the filter prevents clogging the internal blender. Awesome product and highly recommend!

Product functions as stated, however I purchased the "Sharkbite" version with the belief it contained PEX fittings. It does not, so additional fittings were required to install.

This product is pretty awesome. The instructions could have had better pictures and instructions but we figured it out and it works great.

This mixing valve was a true fit replacement for my previous tank valve. It was also the first time I had ever conducted any serious plumbing work on a water tank! It took me about an hour of actual cautious setup, removing the old piece and putting the new one. I saved myself a $525 charge! Highly Recommend to anyone having any issues with their mixing valve, as a replacement or as a cost effective new mixing valve.

I install on my new water heaters I install for customers. They work, keep the water temp about 110 degrees. The new water heaters get really hot and will scald people this is a must have when replacing water heaters.

I was puzzled as to why people had leaks on this but now it is obvious now that i've installed one. The union piece between the mixing valve and the tank adapter is a flat flanged union that must have a gasket. This is not included unless you rob the temp gauge gasket and more importantly the instructions do not call for a gasket. The exact same union connection on the temperature gauge correctly calls for a gasket and one is supplied. Only one gasket is included in kit, but they include a second gasketed screen which could be used. They call for a screen on the cold water inlet to the mixing valve, so this screen is likely intended for the hot water inlet to keep the valve free of debri but this is not specified in instruction. see pictures for additional explanation. other reviews citing thread sealant type as the issue are likely overlooking that this is leaking from the union, not the threads. This is identical to what happens on your garden hose when the gasket is missing.

Easy installation. Even adjusted for max temperature, was unable to get output temp over 120, at ~2gpm flow rate. At ~1gpm, would go to 135, manual says the upper limit should be 130. Water heater was set to 140. Left it set for 120 at ~1gpm, now about 118 at ~2gpm.

I installed this unit on my new 50-gallon gas-fired hot water heater. Directions were good, and it was no problem to install and calibrate. I recommend it.
