“Easy to wire, LED makes troubleshooting easy, super easy to replace electric operator, manual override with visible indicator, end switch for boiler control. BUT what engineer dropped the ball that the end switch does NOT close when using the manual override. So if you are using the manual override to overcome a bad thermostat or valve motor, be prepared to jumper out the end switch. NOTE: This lack of functionality was confirmed by Taco Tech Support.”
“Easy to snap off the motor, making sweating the valve body straightforward. Can be used in any orientation. The only improvement I'd like to see is a built-in loop for a zip-tie so I could secure the cable to the motor body.”
“This re-engineered Taco zone valve is great, beats the Erie or Honeywell brands in simplicity. It works when it should and is easy to change the motor assembly. Awesome valve!”
“I've just installed 6 Taco Zone Sentry Z075P2-2 Normally closed zone valves on 6-zone home hydronic system. The tech' info' specifies setting the thermostat heat anticipators at .5 a. Doing so nets an on-cycle time of over an hour and temperature differential of almost 5 degrees. I've gradually reduced the anticipator settings down to .3 amps as I bring zones on-line and still net a 30 min. on-cycle and slightly over a 2 degree rise at .3 a. Before I go further, is there any downside to reducing the anticipators to a lower setting to net a shorter cycle and smaller temp. gain? I've not encountered any extended charge times or other LED indications starting a new valve at the .3 a anticipator setting. I'm using mechanical heat-only 'stats”
“I have 3 zone valves of the older generation ones. They kept failing and causing problems. These began working as soon as I installed them. Very pleased.”
“These valves are a good value with isolated dry contacts. I use them in heating zones and have used Taco products for over 40 years. Recommend these to my customers.”
