I have an outdoor wood burner boiler system that heats the house. The system runs hot water through a large radiator in my furnace. I needed some extra heat in the basement. I ran some pex pipe, installed a baseboard heater, installed the Sentry valve, connected a transformer and thermostat and it works perfectly. Because the wood burner boiler has a circulating pump I did not have to install another pump. I used a doorbell chime transformer to run the Sentry Valve. It all works great.

Needed this product fast and Plumbing Supply had it and the price was better than I could find even at some plumbing supply locally. You can't ask for more. Fair prices, fast shipping, quality products.

Used recently on a boiler replacement project. I eliminated the old flow control valves with this. The override on this ball valve assembly is way easier to move than the old valve.

I got this to solve a LOUD water hammer problem with a water-source heat pump inside our home. It has helped a great deal. Now I have a "whoosh" sound instead of a hammer, as the ball valve closes in about 2 - 3 seconds. I do have a few issues with this product, and thus the 3 stars. It didn't live up to the specs--the valve uses a capacitor and is slow to turn on, sometimes taking as long as 30 seconds. This is to be expected the first time it's powered up, but shouldn't happen beyond that. Also, I was told it would take about 9 seconds to close. It doesn't. So it opens too slow and closes too fast.

While this is a 1" valve the port is like 3/8, that's ridiculous. I know they give the CV data but it's confusing as it's not clear if it's equivalent feet of pipe, or GPM for 1 foot of head loss. Why even make a 1" valve if the port is that small? It's not a control valve it's a two-way valve.

I bought (2) Taco 1" Zone sentry valve (threaded) to zone my hot water heating system. I went 1" because it was the size of my current pipes, I used threaded in case I want to relocate the valve or change out my boiler in the future. In addition I ordered a ZVC 403 controller and Honeywell Pro thermostat(s) TH411 to finish out the project. After all said and done I couldn't be more pleased with the product. The zone valve is ruggedly built and the detachable controller is very easy to remove and reinstall during installation. Wiring was a snap with the controller and everything worked as it should when it was turned on. I looked at other zone valves but felt this was a really good product and it is. Thanks Brent.
