1" 2-Way Zone Sentry Press-Zone Valve, Normally Closed Reviews

4.5 Rating 57 Reviews
We use this valve to control glycol on our fermentors in our brewery. They are driven by temperature controlers that monitor the highs and lows of the beer we are aging. The life span of these units is many years. I have tried other manufacturers and these are the best.

Deceptive marketing. The 1" version of this product does in fact allow 1" pipe connections, however, the valve port is the size of a non-full port ½" valve. I didn't expect a full-port valve but I did expect at least a typical 1" valve port size. It is really too bad because this is a good valve, easy to use and swap motors but not worth the high price just to reduce my 1" pipe-run down to less than 3/8" because they cheap'd out on a valve casting. I expected more from Taco... so sad. I will install these anyways and I will just have to eat the temperature drop the added restriction will incur but I will not be using these in my next house.

Valve worked without any issues. I like the ball valve design. I do wonder why the size of the ball isn't full port. Doesn't seem hard to do.

They helped me find the exact replacement for the part. And it was cheaper than I expected.

I use this as a zone valve for geothermal heating and cooling (directs/cuts off water to a fan coil unit). The Taco model it replaced had a less powerful motor, and it would stop responding to a call if it wasn't able to reach home position (fully open or fully closed). This model is much more robust. Stronger plastic, more powerful motor, better design.

Ordered four Zone Sentry valves and one arrived broken, valve stem was bent and the plastic that holds actuator to valve body was broken. Replaced quickly and easily by Plumbing Supply. Installs quickly and the wiring is simple and easy to access, no problems during installation.

I use these 2 way zone valves exclusively. I love the ease of installation and adaptability for tight locations. I use them for commercial applications on heating and chilling lines. I would stay away from the 1/2" 3 way valves though. Their CV rating is minimal at best and are hard to use for retrofit applications. I've installed hundreds of these and rarely have had a problem.

This valve is great. However, I wish valves like this were full port.
