“I have installed radiant flooring for a boiler system, that was zoned for baseboard heat. I was overheating the radiant floor. Finally added an open loop system with a heat exchanger. Radiant can now be run at a lower temp. This made a huge difference during the transition time from winter to summer. House now stays at a constant 70 deg F. This unit powers my 007 circulator as well as three zone valves perfect fit for my upgrade. Using dual potable hot water tanks for storage. Boiler now heats the hot water tanks instead of directly heating the radiant to 160+ deg.”
“This is a great product for taking your old, hard wired 3 zone heating system and connecting it to a box that simplifies connections, organizes inputs and outputs, provides 24vAC control power, and provides diagnostic indication to make troubleshooting a non-working or partially working system a breeze. I bought this out of desperation in trying to fix my daughter's heating system. I finally pulled all the wire connections apart and installed this Taco box right above the boiler. Each thermostat has a connection, each zone valve has a connection (2 for the operating motor and 2 for the end switch), AC power connection for the 24vAC transformer included, and the master pump connection. It works like a champ and was even useful in showing which connections were active so I could organize.”
“The device fails to give clear descriptions for connections and/or instructions for usage. Must be familiar with reading diagrams. Not for most homeowners. (I got the explanation from my electrical engineer son, and then it was easy. Would have been better if it had a power cord with it. It is actually a very simple device that seems to work well, if one can hook it up correctly.)”
“The set-up was a breeze! I used a cord instead of hardwiring. Connecting it with Taco zone valves was very easy and it works with my Nest thermostat!”
