Valve Control Module with Priority, 3-Zone, 120 VAC Reviews

4.9 Rating 101 Reviews
This product has had improvements since the last time I bought it a few years ago. I had trouble with the previous model with the board intermittently shorting until finally, on Christmas day, the fuse failed, melting the end of the fuse. This model has a more stylish plastic cover with fiber optic indicating lights. The board was changed and seems better built now. It has 2ea. 5 amp fuses instead of 1ea. 5 amp fuse. There are 2 spare fuses attached on the back of the plastic cover. Very well engineered. It does not look like the older version with a boxy square metal cover. The transformers look maybe slightly bigger.

Ordered this and received it in 2 or 3 days, great shipping. I used it to replace a faulty one.

The wiring directions for connecting both the circulator and the aquastat in tandem were lacking in clarity, unlike the zone valve connections which were clear and simply done. But TACO also publishes videos on YouTube which helped me to figure out what I needed to do, although I still found I had to do some T&E and logical thinking to bring the wiring for these two components into synch. Fortunately my system is a simple two-zone (with one-zone in reserve).

I would order again, great product, very fast shipping, makes installing very easy and neat, the lights make it easy to see what zone is calling.

I came across this device while looking for a way to drive 2 thermostats and 2 zone valves while cycling the boiler when either zone called for heat. This unit does exactly what I needed, and even offers common wire connections so that our Nest thermostats work without having to phantom cycle the unit to steal power. Highly recommended!
