I get about 15 years out of these valves before they start leaking, but otherwise very reliable. You can replace the internals without having to unsolder the valve body, which is nice if you're not comfortable with a torch - drain the system first. If they've been leaking for a while, you may have trouble getting corroded screws out. Sometimes I use a dremel tool with a mini cutoff wheel to get things apart, other times I just unsweat and replace the whole valve. If you just need to replace the powerhead, unhook the wires, twist the old one off and put the new one on and reconnect the wires, no need to drain the system.

It is what it is. I'm only a homeowner but it’s easier to remove the control head than the Honeywell zone valves.

Good product after I returned the 1st one when it failed 2 days after install and left me with no heat for the second time in a week. No hassle return and the second one is all good so far.
