1" 2-Way Hydronic Zone Valve, 7 Cv, 24 VAC Reviews

I replaced my old B&G Modulates with these, and have been trouble free for several seasons. The only thing is they cycle slowly which causes the relay on my Aquastat to chatter until the circuit either makes or breaks.

My brother built his daughter a house about 25 years ago and we installed hydronic baseboard heat. Taco zone valves that are still working. I replaced motorized valves in my house 4 years ago with Taco 520 series valves. Also replaced 2 floor radiant heat circulators with Taco Mod 005-F2-3 circulators. Working good so far.

This bellows style heat activated zone valve is not energy efficient but is built well. The bellows is the only weakness from a longevity viewpoint.

I liked that it's easy to disassemble the valve body and thereby avoid any heat damage during soldering.

These valves work great. We have 4 others on our system that are 21 years old.

Don't know why, but both type L and type M tubing was 'loose' in the ports. I took the valve apart to solder it because of the heat required to heat the thick brass. I was able to make a tight seal even though the pipe wasn't snug in the port as it should have been. Tip - use a small C clamp to hold the valve in place when you screw the plate back on after soldering, it's much easier to compress the spring that way. Besides that issue, valve works flawlessly.
