“The seat assemblies start to leak after 3+ years. I believe that the copper bellows that keeps the piston watertight just starts to break down. Taco fails to redesign it. The assy. costs as much as the valve, so if you get the whole valve and take out the seat assy., you must recycle all the brass on the outside. It's a poor and costly design and not worth the trouble for the long haul.”
“Purchased to replace my 47-year-old original tacos. One was leaking, but still worked. I had thought about the repair kit, but changed the entire valve assemblies instead. As it turned out, they would have never come apart (even on the workbench). Glad I got the complete valves. Great value”
“I searched for this item and found the price here to be the best. The zone valve itself is very good. I replaced a different brand with this Taco. I have three other Taco zone valves that have been in operation for 30+ years and never had an issue with them.”
“I zoned my 3-level house with these valves and they work great. The only issue is to make sure which type of thermostat you use if you are also using the TACO zone valve controller. I used Honeywell round stats and learned they were "power robbing" which required additional transorbs to make everything work properly.”
