Zone Valve, 24 VAC Reviews

Super easy to remove the dead one and install this one. Just made sure that the wires went back to the same connections - 10 minutes later the heat was back on.

When the thermostat in a room or on a floor calls for heat, this is the item that opens or closes the valve that controls the flow of hot water from the boiler into the radiators. It's one of those things that you will remain unaware of - until it fails, and you're getting cold. The original lasted about 15 years

I had a faulty zone valve. I'd say I love it, but the thing was ~$75. The joys of home ownership.

I purchased this Taco 555-050RP power head to replace an old one that would no longer actuate the 550 Series zone valve for our first floor heat. Replacement was very easy with only a slight twist needed to pull off the old head and then just removing and reinstalling the three low voltage wires on the terminal strip. The price for these Taco replacement power heads has gone up quite a bit since the last time I purchased one about six years ago and is now more than half the cost of a complete new 550 Series valve, but at least they are still being made in the USA. The price here wasn't exactly cheap, but still less than the other wholesale suppliers I use so, would purchase here again when needed.

Needed the Taco valve power head quickly and had it within two days. Could not be found locally and received it fast. Excellent price.
