Moen 1222, Posi-Temp Pressure Balanced Shower Cartridge, Brass Reviews

I bought a cheaper off brand kit with a puller and the new cassette leaked worse than the original it was replacing. This Moen cassette works perfectly.

Didn't stop any of the dripping. I will be sending it back. After doing more research, I bought some silicone grease and applied it to the cartridge. This time the cartridge seated all the way in and seems to have eliminated the dripping so far

Lubricant leaked out of its packed inside packaging. I ain't taking any chances ordering the Lubricant today. These are very difficult Cartridges to remove. Installs tricky but near gut busting to remove an old one. I had to brace both feet on shower wall and pull even using the pulling device. But I finally had husband finish the pulling.

Good replacement. Was easy to install...also, the one I received which looks like OEM packaging came with a small tube/pouch of lubricant to coat the rubber portions prior to install (so you don't need to buy separate lubricant for installation).Removing the old one was a bit difficult...after removing the retainer clip, just take your time and gently wiggle the stem pulling towards you...it took several minutes, but it did slowly work (I wouldn't be surprised if there is a specific tool to remove it, but I just worked with a pair of channel-lock/slip joint pliers and it worked for me).The replacement works better than the original...very easy/smooth when turning the handle (my guess is they didn't apply any lubricant in the factory).

The Moen cartridge is easy to install given the instructions included. Turning the shower on and adjusting the temp is so easy and fluid. When in the off position, the water no longer drips!

Mine must have been on the way out for years. finally gave way and after we replaced it the valve turned way easier. Unless you're pretty handy i'd have a plumber swap it out. had to borrow a special tool from my brother in law to get it done.

It works, but the side gaskets get curled up and subsequently destroyed quite often during install, uninstalling isn't fun either, but it works and is ubiquitous.
