“I replaced a ten year old model with this one. Everything pretty much fit the same as the the old one. Took about 45 minutes to make the change. This is installed at my cabin and is in the basement. The main sewer pipe is in the overhead and not in the basement floor. It has served the purpose for ten years. Hoping this one lasts as long.”

“I've owned a Saniplus for about seven years. About six months ago I started having problems with the unit not shutting off properly and clogging. Saniflo rep. said the likely problem was the membrane which needs to trigger the micro switch when the water pressure rises in the tank. The plumber who installed it for me didn't want to look into fixing it so I ended up getting the part and fixing it myself. Replacing the membrane is a pretty messing job and took about two hours. The inside of the tank was extremely disgusting which was probably the result of it clogging as some point. You don't need any special skills to do this, just a lot of determination. If possible plan on taking the whole unit outside to hose the inside out. There's a youtube videos for taking the unit apart for reference.Even with having to do this repair its been worth the investment, just make sure not to flush foreign objects as the macerator won't handle them.”
