“Hopeless!! Tried 3 different coffee brands, various grinds but still produced a watery brew with virtually no crema I used 2 pods each time but probably needed around 5 to make a decent cup. Won’t be recommending this product to anyone.”
“So far, we have found it difficult to get good coffee out of the pods.
I have had great customer service to try to work out the issue, and I hope to get the pods working well”
“These capsules produce no crema, and no matter how hard I manage to pack them, teh results are poor. The coffee that you supplied was also very average. Using better quality coffee produced a drinkable (only just) cup, still with no crema.
Filling and emptying these capsules is messy, but I expected that.
So. In summary, a lot of messing around and mess for no reward.”
“Podstar team and the build quality are first class. I only give it 2 stars because as a concept the execution failed to convert me from plunger. We bought a pod machine, because Podstar enabled us to use the coffee we prefer (and know what is in it). However the reality is that filling up the little pods is fiddly - the threads are tiny and it can take a minute just to screw down the lid (lining up the threads, clearing the threads of coffee, going slow to avoid cross threading) - plus even 2 pods in a coffee is not enough coffee, and if you want to make one for someone else at the same time? by then your first coffee is cold...
We were attracted to the idea of a small appliance on the bench and reusable pods sounded perfect - unfortunately, for me in practise it is not practical.”
“Prompt delivery but disappointed with the product. Purchased your ground coffee, supposedly ground most appropriately for your pods. Also purchased two pods. However, I am not getting the crema on my coffee - it tastes more like filter coffee than expresso. Any tips?”
“The product looks great and works well. The lid is easy to screw on each time. Unfortunately I didn't get a tamponade to compress the coffee into the pods, but I can use a teaspoon to do this. The ground coffee supplied had gone a bit stale already but I half expected that. Ground coffee doesn't usually last more than a few weeks at the most.
My biggest problem has been getting the right grind for a good strength coffee. It tends to taste a bit thin compared to the normal pre-made pods. I'm still practicing with different grinds”
