“Although the note on the web page for this replacement multiport valve stated that approximately 10mm would need to be removed from the filter's pvc centre stem, I found that this was not necessary. The replacement multiport valve's recess for the pvc centre stem was indeed 5mm less than the original valve, however the replacement valve was 5mm shorter than the original. Therefore the two differences cancel out and the stem didn't need to be cut at all. My calculations showed that both valves had 27mm clearance in the recesses. I checked this was the case by fitting the replacement valve in place without the o-ring; and the valve flange sat against the top filter ring without any interference.
The replacement valve was then fitted without any problems and the inlet, outlet and waste lines aligned perfectly. There were no leaks under pressure and the valve is also operating perfectly. If you need a replacement for the original rx 280 multiport valve, then I highly recommend this unit at the best price I found anywhere. Delivery was also very quick.”
