“I ordered two A5 notebook covers -- one in natural, another in English Tan -- and I honestly can't figure out which one I love more. The pull-up on the natural one is just spectacular. On both, the leather is thick as you could ask for, yet very softly tempered, and the craftsmanship is impeccable, just as it's been for every Popov item I've ever ordered. There are other leather goods companies out there that offer goods of similar quality, and I've patronized a number of them, but nobody else I've found offers anywhere close to Popov's value.”
“What incredibly pretty, supple, and high quality leather. The stitching is perfect with no visible flaws. It fits my favorite A5 notebook, the spiral-bound Maruman Mnemosyne N195, which is a huge plus. My only small complaint is that I would have loves finished edges on it. A cover this nice just begs for it. Still, that's a small complaint and after using it a bit, would gladly order all over again. Well worth the money.”
“The cover and craftsmanship is totally lovely. I bought the hobonochi cousin planner to go with, and it doesn’t fit perfectly but works. The planner seems a teeny bit too big and is buckling pretty significantly at the binding. I could probably cut 1/2” or so from the cover’s edges to make it fit better. I love the pen holder. I wish it had some kind of closure system, I’m using a rubber band which works, but looks wrong on such a quality cover. a built in ribbon or ribbons , or even just a hole to attach them, for marking pages would be really welcome.”
“I purchased 2 of the A5 journal covers. One is the English Tan with tan handsewn thread and the other was the Heritage Brown with brown handsewn thread. I gave the English leather one to my wife as part of an early graduation gift. She loves it... We love them. The quality is amazing. I can't wait to see how the leather changes over time. My daughter saw them so there may be a 3rd one in the future.

“This journal cover will outlast all the journals I could buy to fill it. The pen loop is especially well done. My only complaint is that I don't like the slot for the elastic band included with most notebooks, but that is merely personal preference. I can see how it would be a valuable component to others. Otherwise, I love, love, love this cover. The color, the stitching, the design, the quality... all scream EXCELLENT.”
