“The cover barely fits a Leuchttrum1917 since it slides around. I had to go buy another BUJO Leuchttrum to barely fit into it. Also, my product has creases where the pockets are and stitiching didnt go all around. Products came with numerous deep scratches.”
“Been using it for 1 week and have received many compliments so far! Fits the Leuchtturm 1917 A5 perfectly and is wearing in already. The pen holder/clasp is a nice touch and accommodates many pen sizes.”
“This journal cover couldn't have arrived soon enough, as this was a birthday and Father's Day gift (that I picked out) from my wife and daughters. I've used hardbound A5 journals for years (alternating between Leuchtturm 1917 and Endless Recorder notebooks. Both of those notebooks work great with my fountain pens but had never put my notebooks in a cover before. I was missing out.
The supple and gorgeous full grain leather smells amazing, the hand-saddle-stitching with red "tiger" thread is perfect, the creative yet simple design elements (including a back pocket slit for the journal's elastic strap), beautiful and free cover engraving, and the incorporated leather pen loop has thankfully stretched enough to accommodate most of my fountain pens. This journal cover ticks so many boxes for me, as I absolutely things made from leather, waxed canvas, or other materials that remind me of the great outdoors. Even before it arrived I knew this beautiful journal cover would become an heirloom and so I chose this model (Heritage Brown leather with scarlet red stitching) to coincide with the Scripture reference engraved on the cover. Constructive feedback (which doesn't diminish my rating): the back pocket slit for the notebook's elastic doesn't align ideally with either of the journals I use, as it's cut about .25" too close to the right edge...even when the right cover is pushed all the way into the pocket. As such, the elastic (when resting in the back cover, not holding the journal and cover shut) seems to pull back into the slit which results in the journal's back cover moving around and sometimes getting caught on that slit when closing the notebook. Also, I sort of expected the cut edges to be a bit more burnished upon arrival, but they will develop their own natural patina and lustre over time. It's been less than a week since my journal cover has arrived and I now see that you're discontinuing my A5 journal cover design in favor of a soon-to-be announced redesign. I'm intrigued to see if the new design will address this.
All in all, I loved everything about the shopping and ordering process (including your YouTube videos showing your team making various products). I also love your design and branding aesthetic. In fact, you've made me want wear more flannel, move into the wilderness, and to take up leather crafting (which is a totally unrealistic ambition at this stage of my life...which simply means I'll just be buying more Popov Leather goods)!”
