“This is my second notebook cover from Popov Leather, my first being one of their Hobonichi covers. I carry a Field Notes (or notebook of similar size) with me every day and having a solid, great looking leather cover that also holds my pen has added a lot to my every day carry. I didn't think it was possible to enjoy taking notes more. Like the Hobonichi cover, I would highly recommend this cover for anyone who carries notebooks of this size.”
“I have purchased 2 - Field Note Covers and they are great. Real good quality and workmanship. Stamp Company Name in Cover and couldn't be happier with the results. Will be purchasing more in the future.”
“This is my second notebook cover fromPopov leather and while I didn’t need another I just wanted one in English tan with lots of character and that is what I got. The craftsmanship is outstanding and I just love everything about it. These will last a lifetime and are very well made with plenty of room for everything you would need to bring with you. If you are thinking about getting one just do it. You will be”
“The quality of this notebook cover if difficult to describe without being able to handle it. It’s beautiful to look at, is soft in the hand, and the aroma of the leather completes the package. I only wish that British racing-green was a thread option as that color would be a show-stopper - especially with the English Tan leather.”
“My initial impression was that it had a really lovely and strong leather smell. The leather was sturdy, yet also soft. Mine came with scars on the back which I love. I've been using it as my EDC now for a few weeks and the leather has turned into a very beautiful deep brown (English Tan). It gains patina quite easily.
Because I'm an avid fountain pen user, I'd like to touch up on a few things regarding that. The leather pen loops fit a few of my thicker pens but it's not ideal. They are not compatible with pens like TWSBI (Eco) and Lamy Safari/Al Star/2k. Though the body will fit, the caps are simply too big and will not fit through the pen loop. The pens will awkwardly stick out from the top. Though the leather will stretch overtime, I don't believe the caps will ever fit through comfortably. There's also the risk of stretching it out -too- much. Pens on the slimmer side will obviously fit. My VP Decimo fits fine, as well as a Wing Sung 601. Currently I use the Traveler's Company brass fountain pen and it works like a charm. I personally wouldn't use very expensive pens anyway, as it's a something I throw in and out of my bag. The brass pen handles that very well.
My only gripe with this cover is that I wish they had the option of removing the card slots. They have managed to keep it quite thin, but it is at first sight a thicker cover than you'd expect and that is because of the additional layer of leather on the front. I personally don't use the card slots, so it would have been nice if it could've been a bit thinner.
Overall, very happy with my purchase. I can see this holding up well for years to come. It is well made. I was very surprised at how fast the shipping was to Europe.”
