“Beautiful piece of leather. It actually adds a bit of weight to my guitar (which speaks to the quality and thickness of the strap). It’d borderline too heavy for my already heavy telecaster, but it’s so beautiful I can’t complain. The strap is too long for my guitars, even at it’s shortest length. Bit there are ways to make these adjustable straps even shorter (which I did) without cutting or punching new holes. It creates a bit of uncomfortable bump at my lower back when shortening it this way, but I think it will break in over time. (It’s hard to make a one-size-fits-all strap for every kind of player, so Popov probably chose a size to please the average player.)
As with another Popov product I purchased, the colour wasn’t like the photos I saw on the website. Totally fine, since I understand leather is a natural product, every piece is different, and that the screens we view it through never represent colours quite the same.
I use oversized strap buttons, but because of the thickness of the leather, you might have trouble with small strap buttons like on a Gibson.
Overall, I highly recommend this strap. It’s an heirloom piece, it’s friggen gorgeous, and adds class and quality to your guitar. I’m buying another one in a different colour.”
