“I purchased this to help me get my spring bulbs into a very hard soil after a summer of drought. Worked amazingly in our silty loam soil, even penetrating areas of some crab grass establishment. I used a drill that we already had. In the areas with some stone mixed into the soil, the auger did not do as well. I resorted to hand digging those areas with my trowel. However, I am satisfied with the overall performance and would highly recommend if your soil is not rocky or shale.”
