“I was trying to conceive while nursing a 17 month old. My period returned, I was regular, but things weren’t happening as fast as we’d expected. Figured that we could give this a try to gather more information. My result experience was the faintest faint barely there second line (negative for strong ovulation). That drove me crazy with obsession which was a personal disservice to myself but the information still had value. The inconclusive / negative ovulation result gave me the push I needed to go to the doctor for an official blood test. My progesterone wasn’t low but it needed to be higher to achieve strong ovulation. That seemed to align with the confusing “barely” negative result. I needed to BOOST progesterone but it wasn’t a strong negative or a strong positive. The faint second line (negative test result for Proov) was identified when held under a bare LED lightbulb and the Proov support member confirmed that it was there. Again, this information can drive a woman mad. I could have bought a second and third test and followed my ovulation journey during the weaning process but I assumed that I needed medical intervention like Clomid and chose not to do so. This story ends happily though. I was pregnant WHILE I was having my blood drawn for the progesterone level labs. This was two months after I used one Proov test cycle kit. The doctor told me my progesterone was a 7 and he wanted to see that number higher but conception occurred despite that! The Proov test probably was the reality check I needed to understand my progesterone was lowered by my frequent nursing despite my regular period. Before I knew we had conceived, I ordered supplements and rewrote my diet for progesterone boosting foods. Proov and the community around it taught me a lot about my fertility. It was an interesting process.”
