Tackling an emotive issue with facts and examples was superb, all to often these subjects are used to scare and drive revenue, but here the information was presented in an impartial format that left the audience to draw their own conclusions. This is another example of first class CPD being delivered. Well done!!

The webinar gives a good over view of the Radon issue. A difficult one to fully get to grips with as there is little interest in the level of deaths in Britain compared with the continent. So really a concept in development.

The presentation did not explain what we need to do. The information was too technical and was 'over-sciencey'. Much scientific information about the gas which was irrelevant and clouded the communication. (This is the trap that communicators have fallen into in the past and 25 years of awareness communication was wasted. Fortunately improved approaches to awareness communication have been introduced.) There is little specific advice about practical aspects. Importantly, given the audience, there was no reference to employment regulations that apply to workers who frequent radon affected buildings in the course of their work - such as basement waterproofers.

Firstly, many thanks for your feedback and review. We are sorry to hear the webinar did not quite meet your expectations or cover some of the points you mentioned. The theme for the 45mins was always more towards what & where is Radon, how to detect and monitor Radon in existing dwellings, the Radon Regulatory Framework (Scotland, England & Wales), consideration to Radon and watch points for new builds. However, in case you are interested, we now have an extensive library of previous webinars that focus on ground gas and touches on/includes some of the points you mentioned. The webinar titles are as follows: • Controlling Ground Gas and Water: How to get Synergy • Verification of Ground Gas Protection Systems • Ground Gas Protection – Why Bother? To find and view them, simply visit www.property-care.org/cpdwebinars. Just on the point regarding employment regulations, we did touch upon this during the webinar however, if you have any questions we are more than happy to help provide you with some answers. Feel free to contact Andy directly at andy@property-care.org. Lastly, and again, thank you for your feedback. Kind regards, PCA Team
